Call Joe Lucia - C1 Part Spec.

I need to know the O.D. of a 283 crank snout and/or the I.D. of the balancer. My balancer is a lose rather than snug/press fit and I'm trying to determine if the problem is a worn snout or wallowed out balancer bore.

I'm afraid that I don't have a precision spec for the crank snout. However, I believe that this dimension is the same for all small blocks. Perhaps, someone else with a known good crank handy could measure one with a micrometer.
