Who makes / supplies a correct set of battery cables for a 72 Corvette. I see a number of vendors that offer them. Any of them pass judging? Thanks.

Re: Correct battery cables for 72?
Beside being sideposts with the grommet to go thru the floorboard, they were manufactured with a conductor that wes "copper clad aluminum that I don't believe is available any more. It used to come from Texas instruments as I recall, in rod form and Packard Electric drew it down into finished wire.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Bill You are right the replacement parts are small dia. and copper. I have made a few ground cables ouy of used positive as the end near the engine is all that is bad and the cable is the same. LyleLyle

Re: Correct battery cables for 72?
Make sure that you cover the terminal that attaches to the frame and the ends of the conductors COMPLETELY with lead. We used to melt the lead in opots and dip bundles of wire ends at once. If the aluminum is exposed at all, any water (worse if salt water here in the north) will eat the aluminum out of the cladding leaving you with a hollow and not very efficient conductor.Bill Clupper #618- Top
