Need info from Colvin's Chevy by the Numbers 60-64

Is there someone who has the book by Alan Colvin, Chevy by the Numbers 1960-1964, who could look something up for me?

    Thanks,

    Gary

LH application for 3747042 exhaust manifold?

        Scott,

I'm trying to find out if there is a left hand application for exhaust manifold 3747042. It doens't appear there is, at least back trhu 1960.

        Thanks,

        Gary

          Gary------

There were no passenger car or Corvette left side applications for the GM CASTING #3747042 manifold; for these vehicles it was used in a right side application only. There may or may not have been truck applications for it which were originally used on the left side. I doubt it, but it's possible.

Of course, while this manifold was never used in PRODUCTION for a left side application, it could be easily installed in a left side application assuming that no integral bracketry was required for peripheral engine components.

This manifold was manufactured both WITH and WITHOUT heat tube provisions.

Re: LH application for 3747042 exhaust manifold?

The book shows a picture of the manifold on page 147. I believe the book has a typo error because it list 3747038 twice and the manifolds are in numerical sequence. Any way based on the book it is right side 1964 passenger, assuming the info above the picture of 3747042 is for same, best scott #40610
