    '57 Wheel Cylinders

I would like to have the front and rear wheel cylinders rebuilt or replaced. Where is the best place to have cylinders rebuilt? Can you purchase rebuilt cylinders? I also need to purchase Brake Shoes, who has the best products?

    Thanks for your information!

Rebuilding the wheel cylinders is not that tough of a job; if they are not overly pitted. You can get rebuild kits at car parts stores like NAPA. Buy a cylinder rehoner to clean the inside and install the kit. Brake shoes are still available at these stores also. If that fails, try one of the Corvette vendors.

if honing cylinders reveaqls pitting of walls, send them to staionless steel brakes in clarence, N.Y. for stainless sleeves which will never pit in our lifetime. good luck, mike

            Mike:

Do you have the Name, Phone Number, or Address of Stainless Steel Brakes. I was unable to find them on the www.

            Regards,

            Bob
