    Engine Identification

    Hello,

I looked at a '65 Small Block Convertible. On the engine pad I found the following code 'T1207HC'. (BTW: There was no VIN present on it). According to my knowledge all '65 Small Block engines were build in Flint. Thus an 'F' would be appropriate. And 'HC' was never used for '65 Corvettes. The block casting number would be correct for '65 Corvette late engines.
Does anybody know from which GM model this engine could have been? Thanks in advance.

    Regards
    Oliver

HC suffix used in 65 327 250 hp pg pass car, also in 66-68 327 275 hp pg pass car. don't believe the 65 pass cars were vin # from factory. mike

That is a tonawanda block, and has visual differences from the flint variety also.
