I'm sorry to post this because I'm sure it's been covered but I've searched through at least an hours worth of posts without any help. I can't seem to find the decklid finishing buttons that cover the hard top holes when the hardtop isn't on the car. I've seen some chrome buttons on cars but haven't seen any in the books. Could somebody please point me in the right direction? Thanks, Brad

Brad,
You might also try Long Island Corvette and Corvette Central.
Best of luck finding what you need.

Re: Midyear decklid buttons?
Most of the parts houses have the snap-in chrome buttons to fill the holes for the hardtop bolts. I've wondered about this, as there is no reference anywhere in the A.I.M. to any snap-in button. However, if you look in the C07 section in the '67 A.I.M. on Sheet A6, View "B", note that item (23) is called out as "Washer, see UPC 0 Miscellaneous Shipping List". On that UPC 0 sheet, which lists items to be sent in the car when it's shipped (and hardtop cars were shipped with the hardtop fully installed), it shows that two P/N 3827499 "Washer-Special" were to be shipped in the cloth bag along with the hardtop wrench. These are 1/4" I.D. rubber washers, which appear to be intended to be installed under the hardtop bolt heads (per the illustration on the C07 sheet) to seal the bolt hole when the hardtop is NOT installed on the car, which is why they're shown in the Miscellaneous Shipping List.
The snap-in chrome buttons are much more convenient to plug the exposed holes, but I think they're an aftermarket invention instead of re-installing the hardtop tiedown bolts with the "Special Washers" placed under the bolt head.- Top

Re: Midyear decklid buttons?
Thanks for the help. I ordered up the kit from Paragon. I ordered some parts a few weeks back from Zip and the saleman didn't know what I was talking and about and it wasn't in their catalog. I've had back luck with corvette central so I won't deal with them but so far Paragon seems like a good one. Thanks again. Putting the finishing touches on 3 year nightmare restoration on a car I should've left in coral.- Top

Re: Midyear decklid buttons?
John,
Your absolutely correct about the rubber washer. Supposedly, they were shipped with every H-Top equipped car. I have a few of these NOS here somewhere and can scan if anyone needs to see what they look like.
These were to be used with the original bolts that were installed at the rear position of the H-Top. With the top removed, the two rear bolts were to be slid out of the clips and reinstalled in the deck lid, using the existing nuts/washers to secure them and the supplied rubber washers to seal the heads.
