When to replace control arms on a C1?

I am doing a frame off on my 56. Should I replace the control arms? I just took mine off and they "look" OK. Or, is this an item to replace just because they are old?

    thanks Dave Christensen

    Dave-----

Just about all of the ones out there are old; GM has not offerred these parts in many years and, as far as I know, no one reproduces them. So, if yours are not obviously bent, cracked or sufferring from corrosion damage, count yourself among the lucky. If yours are sufferring from these or other obvious problems, then you'll have to locate good, used replacements.

New upper control arms are available from C Central as are reconditioned lower control arms. In addition, many of us C1 nuts have a horde for future use of sale. Inspect the threads. Thats where the problems usually develop.
