    66 coupe antenna cable replacement

I'm about to replace the radio antenna cable on my 66 coupe. Bubba had cut and spliced the one in there now. Is there any tricks or pitfalls I should be aware of? The service manual isn't real clear on it.Thanks - Doug

      Not a trick....

per se, but use good judgement when you install the replacement lead-in cable. It won't have the 'WARDS' silk screen on the outside like the factory original did, but once installed and covered by carpet + up under-dash routing, the silk screen can't really be seen for judging.

Now, on installation, take your time removing the old cable, note how it was routed, and when you run the replacement cable in take care! The actual conductor inside the cable/sheathing is VERY small in diameter. Do NOT tug on the replacement cable with gorilla strength and don't intentionally kink it at 90-degrees. Route it gently and all will be fine!
