65 seat belt boots

How do you get the outboard seat belts through the boots. neither the steel anchor plate or the male buckle will go through the narrow part of the boot

I just sent mine to Snake Oyl (800)284-7777 to have new webbing and rubber boots applied. My original 67 boot slid over the anchor plate, but it was torn. I was told by Snake Oyl that the boots needed to be in place before final webbing is sewn to plate.

seem to recall inserting the belt thru the boot on my 67 i did years ago and seem to recall having to lay the boots out in the hot summer sun it "soften them". good luck, mike

It can be done. Hot water and time. Just have to work the anchor plate through.

A heat gun or a high power hair dryer will also work.
