Does anyone have a source for or a method of reproducing the J.P. STEVENS & CO., INC. carpet tag?

The reproductions from Long Island and Paragon are not close to having the correct fonts, size and spacing. I have reproduce - on my own computer - reproductions that are about 80% correct but still not exact. Any suggestions?

Also, if someone knows the names of the four font styles; pitch size (ie.10,12 etc) and spacing(regular,expanded or compressed), that would be helpful.

I took an original to a stamp maker and had a rubber stamp made that is fine. Took a couple of tries to get the spacing correct. If you have a 65 with red interior I can make all you want. I then just stamped it on a mail label and cut to size.

I partially replaced the carpet in my 75 and stopped.

The replacement carpet material from several of the major vendors is so far from the original in terms of thickness and density that a new "JP Stevens" tag couldn't "cover it up". In fact, any judge could see this at once.

I saved my original tags and will wait till some vendor finds the correct carpet for replacement. I am not holding my breath. Will probably end up having custom made carpets.

Did you find any good carpet for your installation? If you did, let me know where you bought it.
