I bought a teak wheel from Greenhoes last year for 499.00 with a trade of my cracked stock plastic wheel, it is of excellent quality . I also sanded off the finish and revarnished it with 2 coats of marine varnish with a uv shield followed by a last coat of satin varnish for that not to glossy look. the wheel looks great. I believe Greenhoes supplies the after market with his wheels.

Re: Teak Wheel
At an NCRS swap meet here in Toronto last week, there was a gentleman named Doug Graves who, for $600 Canadian plus your core, will craft a "teak" wheel for you out of ebony and/or rosewood (I forget which, but the wood type is as was originally used.) His worked looked great, and with the favorable exchange, should cost about you stateside folks around $400 US.
I just phoned Doug to get his permission for posting his telephone number, which he provided. It's 519-752-0780, and he's in Brantford, Ontario (the home of Wayne Gretzky and just outside of Toronto.)- Top
