Intake overspray C2

Is this factory overspray on this ebay intake?

If so it would be a good guide for restoration. It seems to me that most of those would have been cleaned up by now.

To me, it looks too fresh with too much sheen to be original...but the intake looks nice...Craig

-----Absolutely not an example of any factory over-spray I have ever seen. Aluminum intakes had a mask that covered the entire intake. The mask was not perfect and they tended to get worn out but the break-line was far more finite than the intake pictured. Every intake would have been slightly different as regards Chevy orange overspray because the painters didnt care if things were quite perfect. Seek out truly original cars and you will get a feel for what I am telling you. They are out there!...........Bill S

Sounds likley. Now that you mention it, I agree the paint looks too new. I've never seen an original and can't imagine it not being cleaned off years ago. Now with folks doing detailed restorations I thought they may want to have a look see.
