I am having my 1961 grill restored. I got am estimate for $190.00 for polishing it and clear coat. I told them I wanted it restored to its original finish. I was told that was anodized. They are charging me and additional $100.00 for the anodized finish plus the $190.00 for polishing it. I could not see why it needed to be polished if it was going to be anodized. I was told it still needed to be polished any way. Just curious. Thanks Joe DeLuca #37862

i would have a buddy call the grill restorer and ask if they anodize , say a 65 vette rockerpanel moullding. i can't imagine them not offering that service in the first place. suspect they'll just poish and clearcoat. if they do anodize, it will need buffed/polished proir to anodization. mike -

P.S. tell them you'll be bringing a half oz of paint remover to apply the grill when you pick it up(clear-coat won't like paint remover). mikeComment

I recommend you call Rick Applegate (731-422-0567) and ask how AREBA plates 61 grilles. I know they are silver anodized, what it takes to get ready for the anodize is a question?Comment
