67 aluminum steering hub

Dear Members,

What's the best way to remove #3900579 from the steering shaft? I have undone the 3/4" nut and Flat washer. Do I need a pulley puller? I don't want to scratch the lower collar. It looks as though it pulls straight out off of the threaded shaft. I need to also access the turn signal lever to clean up. Thank you much!

All you need is a steering wheel puller - any auto parts store will have them.

Auto Zone should have one in their "loan a tool" program.

Good luck! I had to remove mine due to the turn signal lever being broken. I had a heck of a time getting mine off. I went through two pullers (bolts bent under pressure)and finally had to cut it off. Probably an extreme situation but mine was stuck. Not corroded but just plane stuck.
