67/68 Delco Master Cylinder Cover

Just curious if this is really what the original master cylinder caps look like, it does read correct per the TIM&JG. This one looked like it needed work to restore the finish from blasting and poor plating, but is the lettering font and appearance correct original so I know what to look for? I currently have a Paragon reproduction on my 67....thx, Craig

Yes, that's correct - the reproductions (and later service replacements) also have "SAE J1703" in the brake fluid description. That one went for $62.00, and there's another one (#7900902283) ending this afternoon that's at $100.00 right now. A tad pricey

Thx John - I appreciate the input on what is correct. I found my repro and did see the J1703, guess it will work as a functional cap....not sure I want to pay this much, maybe it is time to look in some of the yards..... Craig

It appears that our cars may be worth more if we take them apart and sell them in individual pieces.

The same cap was also used in early '69. I have the original cap from my Oct '68 car and it has the same "one line" stamping on both bales.
