I need someone to tell me what an ORIGINAL trunk lock on a '59 looks like. I need a drawing with dimensions or a picture or anything you've got. I have looked at 100's of these at different shows over the years and they all seem to be a little different! Mine was been sanded off years ago and I'm about to create a new one....
I know that Noland Adams has a photo of a '57 in his 53-62 Resto and Tech Guide on page 144. But honestly....it looks like a piece of chewing gum was wrapped around the lock! (I hope I didn't offend Noland!) A couple of weeks ago I looked at Tim Mickey's award winning Red/Orange '58 that was about to be auctioned at Knoxville.....and it didn't look anything at all like Nolan's photo. The hump was a more subtle blend with the trunk that contained about one half of the material. One that you had to look closely at to detect it's presence.
Help!
