    C1 - Car Cover Recommendation?

What kind of advice can anyone give on a reco for a car cover. My restored baby ('59 Corvette) will be the only car kept in a 25x35, 2-car, year-round temp and humidity controlled garage and be towed around the country-side to shows in a covered trailer. The garage will be used for other tasks that would generate fair amounts of airborne contaminants. I know I could spend a lot of money on this cover, but which style and manufacturer would really meet my needs? Could cheaper be better? I've never been really excited thinking about a heavy cover that might scratch my brand new paint job!

    Thanks,
    Brad

    Brad,

I got the Gray Technalon Cover from Corvette Central ($140.00) for my '60 and it works great. I keep it on when its in the garage (protection from dust, wood shavings, etc.) and when I take it to shows if its outside. I haven't had to wash it yet but I'm told it can be done. It breathes and can resist rain up to a point.

      Brad,
If you are not using the cover out in the weather, I think that you can not beat a lined cotton cover. It is soft as a baby's but on the backside and will last a lifetime for indoor storage. I think BackEast makes about the best value on such a cover.

Thanks for the info guys. I like John's idea best....lightweight and soft. Is this the same BackEast that sells trim tags or is this someone else? Please advise.
        Thanks again,
        Brad

Same bunch of people. They make the covers for a lot of the Corvette vendors

Go to www.covercraft.com and look at their material/use matrix. Also, if you are doing work in the garage that will generate dust, just cover the cover with a big plastic sheet that you can buy at home depot.

As long as the garage does not have continuously high or condensing humidity a plastic cover is okay, but plastic should not be used if a car is outside because it will trap moisture.

              Discount Wolfe Covers

I have had outstanding service and price on Wolfe covers through buyautomotive.com. They are the same covers you get at the typical vette vendors for a lot less. I like the NOAH fabric, it breathes, is light, and is good for both keeping debris and moisture out, and is good both indoors and out...Craig
