1964 door panel trim

Are the door lock chrome bezels on the door panels held on by the same type clips as the vent and window regulator handles? Lock bezels are very tight to vinyl and using the tool doesn't seem to release a clip. Trying to not ruin a set of original door panels. Thanks.

I have better luck with those using a putty knife and a stout wire with a hook on the end than with the "tool".

I seem to recall that the window crank clip was different from the door lock clip on my 1964 coupe. I kept fooling around with the tool and eventually got the door locks off, but it was not easy. My guess is that there is another tool specific to the door locks. You can use a heavy piece of slippery plastic like the cover to a Key Map book between the door panel and the tool to protect the panel.

Thanks folks

Managed to easily get the door lock gizmo off with a putty knife. Now if I can just get that pesky vent window regulator back in place without dissasembling the car door, I'll be doing fine.
