    59 judging

is it good to have your car judged to see if what you did is correct so far. if the car is nice but maybe not perfect yet. do people get annoyed at that. i ask this because i just got done removing the under coating from my car cleaning and painting the engine and trans (out of the car). Painting the frame and suspension and putting the correct inspection marks on it. the trunk compartment is perfect. the interior is correct but needs very little work. and the paint is nice but about 85 -90%. is there a limit to the amount of times you could be judged? Do people routinly get judged multiple times if they don't make it. are the judged cars always perfect, will i look foolish? will the judges feel its a waste of there time, or be cordial and helpful with suggestions?
    just wondering
    thanx

    Flight Judging....

is a service to NCRS members from NCRS members. There's no limit on the number of times you can have your car judged and each outing is a new day with a clean slate (no memory).

Cars that are in progress or recently acquired and haven't yet started the restoration process will typically require more judging labor (LOTS to write down and discuss with the owner). Unless, you believe the car is a Star/Bowtie candidate, you might want to do your 'interim' judging at the chapter level where the pace of things is a little more relaxed, the number of cars to judge are typically fewer, and your fellow chapter members (presuming you've joined a local chapter) tend to be 'on your side' in helping you down the learning curve.

Once you're starting to get consistently higher and solid scores (2nd Flight, Top Flight), then it's probably time to think about stepping up a notch and taking 'baby' on to a Regional meet. There, you can expect the judge's knowledge to expand and the inspection/scrutiny to step up a notch or two. This isn't to say there aren't good chapter meets and knowledgeable judges there, it's simply a broad generalization....

Will you look foolish? Heavens no! The whole point is WE are NCRS and it's a place where members get together to help other members in the pursuit of Corvette restoration/preservation. About the only way you might encounter 'friction' is to have a less than perfect restoration and enter the meet with a blood-vengence attitude DEMANDING top award results (square peg in round hole)....
