    66 427/390 Pertronix.

    Which end of the ballast resistor is the ignition switch side?? Thanks.

    Depends on how the wires are hooked up. You can probably trace the lead to the ignition switch by which harness it goes to, but to be sure take voltage readings on each side of the ballast with the engine running or off with the points closed. The ignition switch side should read system/battery voltage, the other side a few volts lower.

      Ballast resistors are not polarity sensitive so just mount the resistor and hook up the wires at the end that is most convenient.... This assumes you are just trying to install a resistor...not trace wiring.

        They are not polarity sensitive, but be sure that the right "groups" of wires are atteached to their respective ends.
