That said, my wife would sell the lot of my parts for pennies on the dollar I am sure.....looks like junk to her....

Mine, too. Except I have the constant threat that she will call someone and offer them $50 to haul it all off.

Not that it will matter much to me at the time, except I hate to see them lose out on what could possibly help them financially.

You are one of the few of your age who would appreciate an early '30s Chevy in restored condition. The few others your age who might relate to one most likely would want it in the hot rod tradition, not restored to original.

As to $40k, he'd be lucky, if he gets it to the right place. With the dying off of the generation that loved them, cherished them, and restored them, so does the demand for those cars and with demand goes the dollars.

There are far too many Model As and such in the $10,000 range today.

          Mike,

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - in several (20?) years I'll start to be able to buy the old Duesenbergs, Packards and Corvette fuelies I like at reasonable prices. That's my goal anyway.

Took my 5 and 3 year old girls for a ride today in my bone stock 70 Cutlass convertible. Spring is here!

Patrick, what size motor? the 350 rocket? My Dad had a 69 Olds with the "Rocket 350" (station wagon) and a quadrajet. That car could move, even for a s/w!!! We used to egg Mom on to floor the gas pedal when she drove it so we could hear the four barrel kick in ..............ahhh the memories.

I wish Ihad my 70 4-4-2 W30 back. It would beat any Corvette I have ever owned!

350 Rocket, 4bbl, dual exhaust, THM 350 transmission. A very fun car that I enjoy driving whenever I can. I purchased it 2 years ago so that I can do car-related activities and take along my 3 children. Can't do that in a Corvette.

Did anybody attend? what did things go for?

As for the estate sale,I find them to be very sad,Imagine a person could be RICH with used collectable items (guns, cars, car parts, magazines, toys, trains)And be cash poor and maybee the family has no idea of the value of them.

I recentey funds and how thly have lost some freinds of mine,If you had spoken to them a couple of months ago none of them would think they would be dying within any time soon none of them had there houses in-order they figured they were still young (oldest 68 and yougest was 44)and still had many many years to get there house's in order.Needless to say they all left me and there family unexspectedly. So the now family is left to figure things out.I guess what I am trying to say is get your home in order,Anyone of us can be gone tomorow. And we should take the time to have our will's in order. Not only our wills but a descriptive list of assest and what should be done with them.At this time I have been working on a action plan for my family that I will keep in a safe in my home.Listed on it are all of my life insurance policies with contact phone numbers and amouts of coverage and how my wife or family should use that money to make thenm safe and comfortable.Alist of all of the kids college funds and how they should be continued to be funded.Every bank account and investment account I have.I have also listed the aproximate values of my collector cars and had suggested where they should be marketed to get the best money.I have also written the advertizement for my collector cars explaining what they are(how would my wife know she doesnt even know the values of the cars she just thinks they are old cars) Needless to say some of the thing are painfull to put down on paper but we owe it to our family to make sure they are financally stable if we pass.

I hate to be the "dooms day guy" But hey it could happen to anyone of us tomorow.

Keep NO secrects.Let the people you love know it NOW and get your home in order.
