    C2 Main Wiring Harness

I plan on replacing the main wiring harness and fuse block on my 65 roadster.
Who has the best and most correct wiring harness ie. Lectric Limited, M&H Electric Fabricators, etc. and have you had any problems with their wiring harness.

    Thanks

I can not tell you if Lectric Limited is the best because they are the only ones that I have used. Their harnesses match the original harnesses for my '63 with respect to length and connector shape. I don't know this myself but, someone did state that some of their wires were a shade off of the original. For example their reds were lighter than the original red and that some judges were able to notice the differences. So, if that is important to you then you may need to get more information from other people.

Original witig was produced with wires using PVC (polyvinychloride) insulation. PVC is very bright and shiny. I have seen some wiring that uses other coatings that may be technically an "improvement" but are not realistic to the original. I would look at what you are planning to buy and compare it to the appearance of the original, then decide.

I used M&H for a TI harness and was very happy with the quality, fit and reemblance to the original

          Re: C2 Main Wiring Harness

I installed a Lectric Limited engine compartment wiring harness, including headlamp extensions. A couple of the wires(to the headlight motors themselves) were installed backwards and the motor rotated the wrong direction relative to the switch. A couple of the plastic connectors were the wrong color, but I had no (other) operational problems I also installed a rear wiring harness and found a couple of the colors off a shade or two. I don't know if anyone else's product is really an "exact" reproduction either. I've come to realize that the term "exact" reproduction should always be prefaced with the word "almost". I also used a Lectric Limited T.I. wiring harness, which works fine and came with clear installation directions.

I've installed both Lectric Limited and Eagle harnesses in my 66. I compared the wire color to the old harnesses and they looked pretty close to me. Granted my old harneses were disolored from 38 years of age. I did install a Lectric Limited engine harness in the car and it included the headlight harness. I remember a past thread that described incorrect connections to the headlights that caused improper headlight rotation. I haven't energized my harnesses yet, but would like a heads up on what to check.

            Thanks,

                Dave,

After I installed the Lectric Limited wiring harness, one of the lights rotated the wrong way. I posted my problem on the discussion board and someone told me to compare the wires to the one that rotated properly(by color), which I did. I found the wires on the one rotating the wrong way, needed to be removed from the plastic connector and reinserted oriented like the one working correctly. It was an easy fix.
