Mine was a freshly-poured new floor; I let it cure for three months, then had the steel shot-blast and epoxy coating done. The shot-blasting does two things - gets it absolutely clean, and removes the "skin" on the concrete so the epoxy has open pores in the concrete to bond to.

Is the surface of the floor slick after the application and/or does any water make the surface slick?

I don't think Art's barn floor was very old either, and he had the same system installed. When we all visited last June, it was quite recently applied.

I don't know that the floor is any slicker than the polished concrete that it replaced. I wet sand on cars in the shop all the time, and have never had a time where It felt slippery. I do have Tennis shoes on whenever I am out there, so it might be more so with regular shoes. There is an additive that can be broadcast before the final coat to give more traction, but I didn't use it since I wanted as easy-to-clean a floor as possible.

I had them very lightly sprinkle some fine silica sand (NOT "play" sand) in the final epoxy coat before it cured, which provides some anti-slip when the floor is wet. Doesn't interfere with sweeping it - I use a push broom with long, soft splayed bristles, wet or dry.

Here's a shot of the finished "Home-Pro" epoxy floor in Art's "barn"; he had flakes put in the final coat that aren't apparent in this shot - see the separate link below for a closer shot that shows the flakes.

Hello
Are there any problems with Jackstands and floorjacks etc making marks in the finnish? Are these working (ie engine trans removeal rebuilds? or just storage garages?

I drop LOTS of things, and haven't been able to hurt it yet; automotive chemicals (including brake fluid) don't faze it either.
