Can anyone advise how to identify an original teak wheel? I understand some of the reproductions are very close to the original appearance (built on original tooling), and I'm not sure I can tell the difference. A friend has an original in good condition for $600. Is this a reasonable price? I have seen some reproductions for about the same price. Thanks!

Re: 65 - 66 Teak Wheels
Have factory original in my '65 and I can tell you it's virtually impossible to distinguish a modern reproduction from the original. Mine is easy to spot since I take condition deducts from the nicks at the top of the wheel where my uncle would tap his high school graduation ring and I would NOT refinish to preserve the nostalgia....- Top
