I removed the original clock several weeks ago; it was never out of the car. The lubricant was white, the workings were clean and dirt-free, and the spring still held its springiness. The only thing I've done so far is carefully file the point, and removed the carbon build-up. I believe that's why it stopped working years back.
Just asking for advice, and wondering if there are any other things I should do to it/with it while it's out of the car? (Not that it was that big a deal to remove and replace.)
Thanks.
Tom
