    1959 Rear Bumpers

Can someone answer the following two questions regarding rear bumpers on a '59.

First, when mounting the bumpers, does the top edge of the bumper sit above or even with the lip/body seam formed at the top of the body exhaust exits?

Second, how far should the exhaust pipes extend from the bumpers?

Looking at my '59, which has no rear-end damage and is very much original, the seam is covered by the bumper and centered behind it. The pipe has always been about 1/2 to 3/4" past the edge of the bumper, any less and you'll get burn marks.
