    1969 Exhaust Related

I am replacing the headers that were on my 350 when I bought it. Trying to get the stock configuration right is kind of like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. The most recent thing I've run into concerns the washers for the manifold bolts and the French locks. When I opened the washers, there were only eight in the set. This seems to be true for all the sets sold out there. The problem is that there are 12 manifold bolts. Are the center bolts not supposed to have washers for some reason?

The second thing is that I've seen two types of sets of French locks. One has six and the other four. Which is the original configuration? If it is four, I assume they go on the outside bolts and that the loop goes under the manifold. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance for the help.

And the french locks and washers were carbon steel, not stainless, like some of the vendors are selling today
