    '74 Faded Gauges

Some of the gauges in my '74 have fairly bright white lettering, while others have faded to what I would call, off-white. I'm looking for any suggestions and ideas on how best to improve the faded/off-white gauges to match the bright white. I have the same need with the radio control knobs. I know one option on the radio would be to pick up new replacement knobs, but not for the gauges.

This is a job for those providing instrument restoration services (check the SERVICES section of Driveline magazine and/or search the archieves for reports of others who've used this/that service). It takes pulling the pointer needle on the gauge (kiss factory original calibration bye-bye) and laying down a fresh silk screen onto the bezel to make the faded paint factory fresh again....

Ray If the clock is off white compared to the others it is very common to see this. Lyle

Sometimes a very light coat of satin clear applied with an air brush will freshen up the guages. Remember the words LIGHT COAT!
