    crack in C1 face moulding

    Hi all,

I picked up the front face moulding for my '59 today, and one of the center "mouth" sections has a small crack about 3/4" in length in it right on the front edge. Is there a way to weld this so it doesn't continue, yet not damage the chrome? I have a MIG welder, but thought the heat might be too high for this type of repair. Pic of the crack available if needed.

    Thanks in advance,

I doubt the MIG will work on this thin die cast part. Any welding will ruin the chrome. Live with it or look for a new part.
