Anybody have a surefire way to bring back that new look to the red lines? The black is easy but the red is looking a bit faded. Thanks. Pat G.

Re: Cleaning red line tires...
in the days when I had raised white letter tires on my high school rides, stiff wet brush and comet was just the thing.
But I just asked the guy at DiamondBack Tire this very "care and feeding of colored strip tires" question yesterday (whilst ordering 5 Goldline tires!) and their advice: 409 and a scotchbrite pad.
I guess they would know. Said my old Comet method was too harsh. But if the scothbrite & 409 doesn't bring the red back up, you can always take it to the next level . . .65 MM Convertible, L76 (365 hp)- Top

Re: Cleaning red line tires...
I've got redlines from Diamond Back on my 71. I use Westley's and it works great. No, despite the name it does not bleach them out, and I'd think it is much less abrasive than a Scotch Brite pad. I use a brush made for tires, and have great results.
