C1 Speaker grill

Rob M. has been helping me to decode what I should have as far as a speaker grill for my '59. Adam's book says that the 58 and 59 should not have a bezel, but just that the grill goes up from underneath by itself (I assume the dash vinyl wraps around the inside and the grill goes up through it). Rob sent me a pic of his '59 grill and he has a bezel. Did they start to use bezels in 59 or not? My car is a 69xx build. Should it have a bezel?

I notice in my Paragon catalogue (2002) they "advise using (a 1960-62 bezel) on 1958-59 when changing dash pads". Maybe it is tricky to to do a nice job of the pad around the speaker.

Ed,

Please notice I have a very late '59-er and I found a lot of things are often been taken from the 1960 model on my car (e.g. like the pointy OIL/TEMP/FULE and AMP guages), rubber on the rear softtop bow, two tone paint in the trunk, etc.

I still have a basic problem with my 59. I am about ready to install the bezel on it because I can't figure out how to attach the radio speaker to it and have it hold on. Just took my dash cover off and I have four holes surrounding the speaker grill hole.
Any suggestions????
