    1966 Stencils

    Hi again,

Can anyone confirm or deny a part number stencil on a 1966 small block 4 speed driveshaft? And if one was used, what was the number? I can't find a yes or no anywhere.

Also, what number was stenciled on the side of the gas tank? Quanta's instructions don't say.

    Thanks,

    Re: 1966 Stencils

I cannot speak to the stencil on the drive shaft... My 67 did not have one; only colored rings.

My 67 gas tank had a stencil that had ST LOUIS

    3819506
on the drivers side lower half upside down when installed. The number is the part number of the tank.
    Hope this helps

      Patrick:

As far as I could ever learn, neither was used for 1965. I believe that the same applies to 1966. I think that one or both of the extra (shaft and tank) stencils started for 1967, or later.

        Re: 1966 Stencils

        Patrick,
My '66 late (#21299), L79 coupe did not have a number on the driveshaft. It had two paint rings, one green and one orange toward the forward end of the driveshaft, but no number of any kind on it.

The original gas tank had "St. Louis" and a part number (don't remember the number exactly, but I can look it up at home if you email me) printed upside-down on the passenger's side of the tank. According to documentation, in '66 it was stenciled in black, and was in white for '67. Mine was in white (I guess since it was a late car).
