In a previous post Baldor Buffers were mentioned. What size would be the minimum required? What other kits should be ordered at the same time? Are the kits that are sold at places such as Carlisle worth it?

Re: Buffers
Gary,
I am usually a diehard buy American person, but I could not pass up the Harbor Freight buffer - 3/4hp, 8" I got for $80 on sale (it weighs 47 pounds). I knew I would not be using it much except to polish on few items for my 65 restoration. I could not see paying $350 or so for the Eastwood or Caswell buffers. I actually felt guilty but concluded it was either Harbor Freight or my hand held drill.
I got the supplies from Caswell's. My 2 cents.

Re: Buffers
I just bolted a arbor shaft with a stepped pulley on my table saw and a pulley on in place of the blade, lower the blade to tighten the belt,it buffs or you have a grinding wheel or wire wheels at varied speeds and I'm thinking a 3 or 4 jaw lathe chuck is next.- Top
