I have just purchased an 80 vette L82. Where do I find the paint number, engine number. Also, I have a 64 that I received a 64 specification book from GM but I have lost the information on who you contact at GM for this info. Does anyone have this info.

The body build date, paint and trim codes are on a plate riveted to the inner front face of the driver's door, above the upper hinge. The engine number (engine plant code) and the car's VIN derivative are stamped on a machined pad that protrudes from the block just below the front of the passenger side cylinder head. The numbers for the GM package are (800) 222-1020 or (248) 475-7352; both will take you to "MSX", which is the contractor that provides this service for Chevrolet.
