    C1 Silly putty.....

Does anyone have a source for the putty or filler that the factory used to fill the holes, such as the one for the front bolt on a door post, or around the nut for the hard top receiver plate on a C1?

Kevin - I belive the filler for the door bolt was simply bonding compound or close to it. Bondo would probably do quite well. I am unable to address your question about the hard top receiver plate - that leaves me a little confused, but that's nothing new... Best, Dennis

I think you want what is commonly called dum-dum. Any body shop supply should have it. Comes in a box of small strips.

You can also get it at your local Ace hardware store.

          Hi Kevin -
If you're intent on using original dum dum, shoot me an e-mail. I've got a wad left over that was in my '57.
