1980 blower motor: Original or a replacement?

I have pulled the blower motor out of the 1980. There is a "Made in Canada" stamped on the case flange, but not a GM part number or date code. Any way to tell if this is orginal? The reason I ask is that there was a bunch of sealant between the flange and the firewall...which makes me think the motor had been taken out in the past.

    Thanks,
    David

Hi Dave, I am a retiree from Delco Products, Rochester,New York and wanted to let you know that the blower in your 80 Corvette in a replacement. Your original motor would have DELCO PRODUCTS stamped on case also have the little silver label on motor case with date code. Hope this helps,Save the Wave.>George
