68-69 L-88

I have purchased what I believe to be an original 68-69 L-88 hood. It is black glass/press-molded, has air cleaner plenum in the hood and came from a previous owner of 18 years.

What is special to look for? Is there a difference between 68 and 69?

Please post pictures of the underside of the hood, specifically the cowl induction plenum area, the area where the cowl induction plenum meets the hood support frame and from the windshield side where the little prop holds up the underside of the scoop in the middle.
There are at least two styles of L88 original hoods. One has the plenum and the hood frame all as one piece of fiberglass and uses a 1/4" thick chunk of pressed fiberglass to hold up the center of the scoop, the other has the plenum as two separate pieces and uses a 1/8" thick zigzag piece of fiberglass to support the center of the scoop.
Not sure which is correct, but the one with two separate pieces to the plenum is a lot more common.

Hood support in center of scoop is Zigzag piece of fiberglass. Plenum in separate from the bottom hood frame. Cable between hood release mechanisms is white instead of black. It also has 2 hold down clips to bolt to the hood. Hood only has one spot to bolt cable. This bolt hole location is on the hood frame below the center of the hood scoop at the rear of the hood.

that's the more common L88 hood. White cable was used in early 69 model year until somewhere between vin 19000 and 34000 when they switched to black.

The white cable has 2 eyelets for bolting to hood however there is only 1 place to bolt the cable. That is in the center.

Are other cables like this?

more likely that the hood was a GM original that was purchased over the counter (it was actually very popular in the 70's) and the buyer swapped their cable over to it. Remember, there were only 200 L88's built in 68-69. Very unlikely that an L88 was parted out for it's hood, they had to be really trashed before they were given up.
