C1 Frame VIN 58 59 60

Does anyone know if VIN's were stamped into the frame on 58, 59, or 60's? I have a early 60 with no frame vin. When I was repairing the frame I noticed two rivets extending from the frame rail. I left the rivits (or pins) because they looked like the type that would hold an id tag of some sort.
My body is not on the frame yet.
If my frame was swapped at some point in the past how can I identify it's year?

I also had a frame having no number stamped in. Mine and your's will not have it , if it was ordered from the Chevy parts department as a replacement .The original must of had damage so bad it was replaced.

waqyne: roy is correct. also, no vin plates on frames of c-1 so can't tell you purpose of the rivets you found. original frames win # was stamped on the drivers side, top, right about where you're right buttock resides when behind the wheel. mike

60-62 Frames had mounts for traction bars and mounts for the rear stabilizer bar. 59 frames had no stabilizer bar brackets 58 frames had neither
