' rear spring squeak john i'm getting a pretty steady series of high pitched squeaks from the rear end of the car especially noticeable aggravating at low speed around town also can be heard by pushing down anywhere on the rear portion of the body seems to be coming from the rear springs liners appear to be in good shape anyone have any recommendations for a quieting fix besides disassembling the springs thanks

re ' rear spring squeak carl rose dear john i don't have any experience with the early cars but my mustang probably has a similar rear suspension configuration if the cars have an eyelet at the front and or rear you may want to drop the spring and examine this sometimes if the bushing gets rusty it can squeak anti seize compound is a good lubricant i have also had squeeaks from the rear end due to disintegrating wheel bearings and u joints but these will only occur when in motion hope this helps carl- Top
