Re: radiator for a 57
No, the Griffin radiator won't pass judging without deductions. DeWitt's has two options you might consider - a correct new restoration core any good radiator shop can use with your existing tanks, or a new direct-fit aluminum reproduction that looks just like the original (when painted black) but has twice the cooling capacity of the original.- Top

Re: radiator for a 57
I spent about 3 bazillion miles driving a '57 with a bone stock original radiator and never had a heating problem. Maybe, just maybe, you are trying to fix a problem that dosen't exist. ??? Best, Dennis- Top

Dennis:
In my case, it was a problem. My '57 overheated often when driving low speeds such as in parades. When I replaced the core, my overheating problems went away. I can only assume the radiator core was plugged. The radiator shop owner concurred that it was indeed plugged with corrosion.- Top

thanks art and all. yup, same w / this ole car, after 30 years of progressively getting worse, 5 engines, and being really "put away wet" in a barn for 20 years w/every known creature in michigan as bed mates, its time to do something about it..based on all your fine input, sounds like a re- core will do the job.re. d.- Top
