John Pirkle (706) 860-9047 http://www.johnpirkle.com He can also rebuild your generator to show quality standards if you have the correct one. If not he can get you one. Many times these were replaced by whatever was on the shelf instead of being rebuilt on the bench. It's no big deal getting the tag and John can stamp one for you correctly. It is riveted on so I believe the generator case has to be removed. -

Not sure what the size and style of the stamps are. Look at the old one to determine.
You don't need to remove the guts of the generator to rivet the tag on. The rivets do not go through the case. Corvette Central and some other vendors sell the rivets. You just pound them in the holes to expand them. I don't trust that, so I put little bit of glue or epoxy on the backside of the tag to further affix it to the case. Another reason I glue the tag is that the rivet holes probably got munged up after I drilled the old rivets out.
Remember the tag goes on upside down. And don't pick a weekend day for your date code.Comment
