I recently posted a message about the new kingpin thrust bearings being about .012" too thick to install. I searched everywhere to find thinner ones with no luck. Two separate knowledgable bearing guys told me that the lower race on these bearings is quite thick and it wouldn't hurt to shave a little material off them. So, with the help of some emery cloth, a flat surface and some elbow grease, I was able to trim them down enough to fit. I now have a net fit with no shims. Thanks to all who responded to my quest.
