    C-1 sterring wheel

Before i ruin a good sterring wheel, or send one back could you guys look at your C-1 sterring wheels and tell me if they are the same on the front and back, (spokes) i have two that are different, and one that is the same (front and back). The front of two looks like it is spun from spoke to spoke and the back is sanded from outside of wheel to the center, does any one have one that is the same on both sides? (Sanded from outside of rim to center of hub) I guess my question would be are there different wheels and what years would they be?

        Lee,
Everything that I have ever read indicates that all original wheels had the radial machine marks on the driver side of the wheel. I have seen some wheels that had the radial marks facing the dash and the straight machine marks facing the driver, but have been told by several knowledgable persons that these wheels were service repalcements and were never installed at the factory.

Lee, I have one that came off of my '60 that has lines down the spokes on both sides. I'm not sure that it was original since someone had changed the interior color from blue to black. The other one that I have is on my '58 and it has the "radial" marks on the drivers side and is smooth on the back side. I'm pretty sure this one is original to the car since it is charcoal in color and the interior appears to be untouched on the car. Hope this helps.
