I just bought a 56 Cameo pick up. My plan is to do it in Aztec Copper with beige interior to match my 56 Corvette. Does anyone go back far enough to recall ever seeing a 56 Cameo with 2X4s? Was it even an option? I believe it was an option on passenger cars. Just curiosity more than anything. Thanks Steve

Re: Corvette question (sort of)
Chevy in 1956 could have 2x4 carbs, but it was not a common option. I have no idea if this was available on Cameo.

Thanks for the responses. This Cameo has an original 265 with 4 speed Hydromatic. Regardless of what the General had as options, I plan to put 2X4s on it so the engines in the Corvette and Cameo match. Loren, I wasn't aware that Smokey ran a Cameo - I'll have to do a little digging and see what it was all about. Steve- Top

Mike, I couldn't agree more. I remember seeing one when I was a teenager and thinking it was the coolest truck I had ever seen - no bubble rear fenders! I looked a long time and finally found one that was a good start and a reasonable price. I think the 57s are the best looking, but I wanted a 56 to go with my vette. Steve- Top

Re: Corvette question (sort of)
The best thing about the SSR is its place in Chevy's new ad (available on their web site for viewing - see below). I saved it to my computer, and my 8 yr old son and I love to watch the SSR flip around and back onto the car trailer at speed.
I saw one at the Detroit Auto Show, though. WAY, WAY overpriced. Makes the Thunderbird fiasco look cheap. I think they'll wish it was $10k less when they don't sell them next year.
