    Carb Rebuildind

I'm looking to have my 1968 Tri-Power carbs fully redone in the near future. Holley Custom Shop and Bob Kunz are only a few dollars apart. Any recommendations? Thanks, Jack

    Re: Carb Rebuildind

Jack, I've never used the Holley Custom Shop and have no opinions for or against them. But I have used Bob Kunz and, as far as I'm concerned, he's as professionsl and and as dedicated to quality rebuilds as they come. Steve

            Re: Bob Kunz

I`ve had experience with some other "name" carb (WCFB) rebuilders and I`ll never use anyone other than Bob Kunz. He does it correctly and ships when he promised. His prices are competitive.......

Bob Kunz rebuilt my Carter AFB after another "show quality" rebuilder screwed it up.

Patrick, Actually, I didn't mean to slight Jerry on rebuilds. He did a quadrajet for me that was top drawer - I didn't realize he was a tri-power rebuilder as well. Steve

                    Steve,

No problem. Jerry actually LOVES to do tri-powers. He seems to spend half his time redoing what someone else messed up in a "rebuild" or restoration.

I've had him do a couple of Q-jets for me, too.

I've used Bob to do several AFB's and Q Jets but never a Holley. Excellent service and quality and would be my choice again.

                        RE JERRY LUCK

Jerry ran an add in the driveline regarding carb rebuilding when I sent him mine that said turn-around time was only 10-14 days. I don't know if he still runs that add, but mine took 3-4 months. I am happy with the work he did on my '67 tri-power carbs, but just thought you should be aware of the actual time involved. It didn't matter to me, since my car wasn't near completion at the time, but it might to you. (I don't know if anyone else is any quicker)

                          RE JERRY LUCK

My rebuilt '67 (tri-power) engine started right up after one pump (after the float bowls filled) with the carbs Jerry rebuilt for me.

                            Jerry Luck

Jerry has had my original quadrajet since the beginning of Nov. Still don't have it back. I called him at the end of Dec. He is still working on it.

I don't mind the time since I'm not ready for it yet, so I haven't been pushing to get it.

It will take a few months, but it will be worth the wait.
