    NO OIL PRESSURE AT GAGE

I attached an oil pressure gage with a clear tube at the engine connection and it worked fine, with normal pressure. It was either the line or the gage. I am surprised how small the actual opening is in th steel, reprodution, pre-coiled oil pressure line. It's not nearly as wide as the one I have hooked up for test purposes.

    Rob-----

Factory oil pressure lines to the gauge have always been very small ID. In theory, it shouldn't matter much since the pressure should be equal throughout the system regardless of the size of the tubing. In practice, a larger oil line is best to use with test gauges in order to ensure the most accurate readings. The factory system was never designed to provide the kind of measuring precision as one can obtain with a high quality test gauge and fluid transmission system. Also, the factory gauges are not designed to be used with larger tubing. One might be able to adapt a little larger tubing, but it would be a lot of effort for little return.

If you know that you have pressure at the engine, but you have no pressure at the gauge then, obviously, either the gauge is defective or the tubing is blocked. This small tubing can EASILY kink. Once kinked, it's dead.

      Joe,

I was careful to not kink the line and used a round object to curve it to line up with the engine block attachment point, but I can't get any oil or air through it.
