!962 corvette fender extentions

Hi everyone.I need some information for the fender extentions.While all the other trim is stainless steel,I'm told the little approx.3" fender extentions are chrome plated.Were they originally stainless or chrome plated?I'm restoring my vette by the book.Correct numbers matching car.I need to know if they are supposed to be stainless or not.If there stainless,does anyone know where I can get them.In the corvette central book,they are chrome.

John - They are chrome plated pot metal riveted to the pot metal painted head light bezel. They are not stainless. The C/C (or probably other) repro on this item is pretty good. Best, Dennis
