Cranked over my rebuilt engine without the ignition to check the fuel lines for leaks. It was leaking in several connections between the first block and the carbs. I tightened them a little at a time and retested them. I still have one bad one at the fuel line to carburator fitting that I really can't tighten any more. It's not just a drip. It actually seemed to get worse the more I tightened it. I'm thinking of ordering a new set of lines unless someone has some suggestions. I haven't tried any sealers or tapes, relying on the fittings seating as they were tightened. So close to starting up my rebuilt engine, but just another snag, (there's a surprise)

Re: '67 TRI POWER FUEL LINE LEAKS
i have read several posts on the subject and they stated ,
to tighten all flared fittings in a vice to seat them before installing on vehicle and that tape or sealant/teflon not to be used . That was the tech of the talk , so to speak . Also
stainless lines are more difficult to seal . i am certain other members will assist here if more info needed, I am aware of the cautious approach you may be taking , it may seem you are really wrenching on them .- Top
