Which C2 interior repro parts fit best/most orig?

As I plan for replacing interior parts in my 67' 327 Conv., I thought it would be helpful to me and maybe others to survey the NCRS in this forum.

I suggest that those of you who have relatively recent experiences in changing out original interior parts on your C2 (or other years if you think the experience still applies) might share your conclusions and opinions. The criteria I am interested in are:

• How well the repro fit and looked like the original.
• What specific manufacturers do the best and which to avoid.
• Differences between original parts and repros that are significant.
• Tips that help the repros fit better might also be mentioned.

Try to be specific as to suppliers and timeframe of your experiences. Also, if you have a connection (i.e. work for, etc.) to the supplier or company please let us know in your response so that can be taken into account.

The parts I suggest focusing on in this thread are interior parts like door panels, carpets, carpet insulation, trim panels, seat covers and backs, convertible tops, etc. Basically, the typical interior pieces that are replaced to bring an interior back to like new condition.

------I hope some other posters have a bit more time than I do. You have a lot of stuff to address here. Im just going to say A Knoch is the only interior guy I would use for almost any interior items in a C2. I have no experience with other years. Price is forgotten alot sooner than quality,dont you think?................Bill S

I will have to echo Bill's comments. The quality of Al's is far above anyone elses. They have made errors over the years but have tried to correct them. I do not think that anyone can repo items that some one will not detect, if using the only excuse it is too nice.

Suggest you consider Auto Custom Carpet (ACC). My experience with a '67 Marina Blue w/ White interior was that they are the only vendor who has the correct color for "medium-blue" carpet. My two cents worth.

I hope you do not need to replace a teal interior carpet as none of the repo's are correct color. I had to dye the closest I could find to match the unfaded original pieces I took out. Hand dying the loop carpet is very time consuming. Also the repro teal pinch welting is not even close. Took the original pinch welting after cleaning and hand sew them thru the original holes on the new dyed carpet......sic. Another thing I haven't seen a seat back that's any good. So you need to clean up that original set. The grain is always way off.
