White vinyl cleaning

I am trying to clean the white vinyl in my '64 in order to save the original interior. I have tried every product in my garage inventory of "stuff" as well as my wife's "stuff" for the house...no luck in getting it back to white. I am about ready to start mixing a home brew to get the job done but before I blow up the garage, does anyone have any suggestions or had experience with bringing 40 year old white vinyl back to something acceptable? Although I have not used a vinyl dye and have no idea how a white dye job will appear, at this point I prefer that dye not be an option. Thanks.

You don't say what it is you are trying to get off the vinyl. Is there any white vinyl left? Our boat has white vinyl seats and my wife uses "Soft Scrub with Bleach" to get them clean. GoJo hand cleaner for Mechanics works quite well also, but it depends on what to are trying to get out.

formula 409 always worked wonders on my 65 impala white SS seats and trim ,but I'm sure you tryed it or close to it,
At work the last resort is a gallon can of dry cleaning solution,
it works on 99%
